Located in Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh; Narasarao Pet is the birth place of such distinguished personalities as K Brahmananada Reddy, former AP Chief Minister, Konda Venkatapaiah and Annapragada Kameswara Rao, freedom fighters, and flautist-poet-music director Dr Elchuru Vijayaraghava Rao, recently celebrated its bicentenary.

It is one of the biggest parliamentary constituencies of India and also known as gateway of "palnadu". The famous "Shiva" temple kotappakonda is located just 12 kms from narasaraopet. During Mahashivarathri, the town wears a new look and lakhs of people visit the place for worshipping "thrikoteswara swamy". The cultural shows performed during the festival are impeccable.

It is also known for its famous educational institutions like S.S.N College. Many students of Narasaraopet have achieved state and national level ranks in various academic examinations.
